Sooo....
I thought I would post a quick and easy recipe!
Pioneer Woman Green Beans~
- 1 pound of FRESH green beans from your local farmer's market
- 1 cup of chopped onions (also fresh)
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1/2 cup of chopped red bell pepper (Fresh! :) )
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1 cup of chicken broth
- 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of kosher salt (or 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of table salt)
- Ground black pepper
Steps
- Snap the stem ends off of the fresh green beans
- Melt the butter and olive oil in a skillet on medium heat
- Add garlic and onions into the skillet
- After a rough minute throw in your greenbeans and cook until they are bright green.
- Add chicken broth, the red pepper, salt, and black pepper
- Turn heat to low and cover with a lid (leave a crack in the side to allow it to steam)
- Cook for 20-30 minutes or until the liquid evaporates and the beans are kind of soft, but still a bit crisp!
- You can add more chicken broth during the cooking process, but don't be afraid to let it all cook away so the the peppers and onions can carmelize.
- Enjoy!
